How the naming rules work

SHMOTE5 connects curated subject briefs with versioned rule specifications. A shared runtime interprets those specifications in the browser. This is rule-based generation, not a conversation with a live language model.

Different specifications, shared infrastructure

The expansion records a vocabulary, focal image, head word, structural priorities, preferred syllable window, length window and weighting for each new tool. Input validation, pseudorandom selection, rendering and exports are shared. Separately recorded programs should not be confused with a claim that every page invents a completely unrelated algorithm.

Candidate construction and checks

A program selects an image and naming structure, applies your prefix and suffix, and then evaluates the candidate. Excluded words, maximum length and optional syllable limits are hard constraints. A constrained search can return fewer results, including none. It does not fill the list with candidates that violate those constraints.

Four transparent checks help order the selection: the chosen image, an approximate orthographic syllable count, a length window and a vowel-pattern preference. These are editorial heuristics, not scientific quality scores. The displayed trace shows what passed. A downloaded rule file makes the specification inspectable.

Repeatability

The same program, settings and seed reproduce a selection. A requested result count does not change the earlier part of the series. A single variation uses another reproducible seed while leaving the other chosen results in place. A later vocabulary or program revision can change old seed outputs, so exports retain actual results and the program identifier.

Creative meanings and story material

The fictional briefs connect an initial expectation, a contradictory clue, a concrete cost and a limited resolution. They do not claim a real historical origin for an invented word. The purpose is to show how a label can influence a scene and then acquire a more precise meaning through a decision.

What remains your decision

Choose the form that works in your dialogue, map or interface. Check pronunciation in context and research existing uses before publishing an important public name. A shared project label or seed does not give the software a complete understanding of your world, its languages or all relationships between tools.

Local work and exports

Names can be compared, saved in the browser or exported as text, CSV and JSON. JSON project exports include notes and settings. These files are created on the device, not uploaded to a central project account.
