About the SHMOTE5 naming workshop
SHMOTE5.COM is a German- and English-language creative naming workshop for people building games and fictional worlds. It combines usable tools, transparent naming rules and fictional examples that show how a name can become part of a scene.
From a candidate to a considered choice
A name is useful when it fits an actual task: identifying a character, directing somebody to a place, distinguishing an object or introducing a conflict. The workshop lets you narrow candidates, compare alternatives and record the reason for a choice. Long explanations are supporting material, not a substitute for a name that works in the project.
The catalogue
The collection contains 1,252 tool subjects in four broad groups. The original 252 workspaces are retained at their existing German addresses. The expansion adds 1,000 curated subject briefs and separately recorded rule specifications. Tools share tested software for input handling and exports; different specifications are not a claim that 1,000 unrelated general-purpose algorithms have been invented.
How the content is developed
Vocabulary, design briefs, guides and fictional story cases are developed with AI assistance. Generation in the browser uses local rule-based software. It does not send your brief to a live external language model. Interpretations are creative suggestions, not verified etymologies. No independent native-speaker review, professional qualification or measured customer success is claimed without supporting evidence.
Two accessible language editions
German URLs stay at their existing addresses. English pages use the /en/ prefix and contain English text in the delivered HTML. On a first bare-homepage visit the browser preference can select English; explicit language addresses and deep links keep their requested version. The language controls let you change the choice.
